FBC Youth—Bring people together while touching lives with the love of Christ. At First Baptist our goal is to provide students with opportunities to encounter God in a real and personal way. We seek to follow the model of the early church in Acts 2:42-47 in which believers learned, fellowshipped, prayed, and worshipped together. The early church model is an excellent guide in providing a balanced ministry full of opportunities to encounter and glow in Christ. The greatest goal of youth ministry at First Baptist is to take the brief time we have with students and utilize every opportunity to help them become true followers of Christ.
Sunday School—9:45-10:45 AM
Youth meet in the Youth Hall; classrooms are grade divided and appropriately marked. Our youth experience teaching from Scripture on retreats and weekly in youth group.
Wednesday Night Youth—6:15-7:30 PM
Small Group leaders lead youth into discussions about events, situations, and issues relevant to the their lives in order to see how the Bible addresses these things. Small Groups are age and gender based.
Retreats
Some of the memorable moments for FBC youth occur when we are on retreat. In the fall FBC youth venture to the mountains for our annual fall retreat for a weekend of games, fellowship, and study. In the spring we hit the beach for a time like no other. These retreats provide youth with the opportunity to band as a group as well as to really focus on the topic at hand-whether it be spiritual disciplines or dating do’s and don’ts. The best way to know how effective and wonderful retreats are is to ask our youth. Just listen to what they have to say.
