Susan O’Keefe, FBC Children’s Music Director, directs weekly rehearsals of “FBCKC” – the energetic First Baptist Church Kids Company, composed of children in grades 1-5.

Susan joined the staff of First Baptist Church as Interim Music Assistant in the fall of 2008. She became Children’s Music Director in 2009, supervising a growing children’s choir at FBC.

Susan, who is from Mooresville, is known in the local community as founder and director of the Testify Community Youth Choir, made up of more than 100 young people in grades 7-12. This group appears throughout the region, presenting Christian music programs.

Since earning her degree in music education from Pfeiffer College, Susan has worked in music ministry at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Cornelius, Sunset Road Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church in Mooresville, and The Cove Church. She also started the Magnify Community Choir, an adult choral group.

She and her husband, Mark, have two children, Jessica and Andrew, who are both students at Appalachian State University.
