Marilyn Mayforth Administrative Assistant, to the Minister of Education & Administration

Marilyn comes to First Baptist Church with 30 years’ experience in office administration, including positions as executive secretary at several large corporations, legal secretary, real estate broker, and public relations director. Her diverse professional experience includes serving as managing editor of the Armed Forces Journal in Washington, DC, and executive secretary at Teledyne Ryan and Rockwell International in California, where she attended San Diego State University.

Married to an Air Force Officer, she was employed as a secretary in the Department of Defense in Naples, Italy. When the couple moved to Honolulu, Hawaii, she worked as a legal secretary, and also as a secretary at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Cathedral. She was an administrative assistant for Motorola in the Research Triangle Park, and then served as a senior executive administrator for Motorola in Austin, Texas before she and her husband retired to Statesville in 2002.
