June Events

Sunday, June 6 - Joint Sunday School Party for all children in the Family Life Center, 9:45-10:55 a.m.

Tuesday, June 22 - Bowling at Pla Mor Lanes, 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Meet at the church at 11:30 (Cost: $5)

Saturday, June 26 - Vacation Bible School Workday for the Family, starting at 9:00 a.m.

Monday-Friday, June 28-July 2 - Vacation Bible School, 8:45 a.m.-Noon. Ages 3 (by August 31, 2009) through Grade 5. Register online (see link above on this page). Family Night Celebration will be Thursday, July 1 at 6:30 p.m.

July Events

Tuesday, July 6 - Sci-Works Museum. Bring a bagged lunch & meet at the church at 10:00 a.m. We'll return at 2:00 p.m. (Cost: $6)

Tuesday, July 13 - Ray's Splash Planet. Meet at the church at 9:00 a.m. Return at 1:00 p.m. (Cost: $8)

Tuesday, July 20 - Movie Day @ the church. 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Free pizza!

Monday-Friday, July 26-30 - Music Camp, 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Registration forms available at the church. Please register by July 2.  The cost is $10.00. 

August Events

Tuesday, August 3 - Cookie Camp, 9:00 a.m. to noon. We'll bake cookies & brownies and package them for our Church Food Pantry.

Tuesday, August 10 - Hickory Dickory Dock. Meet at the church at 1:30 p.m. Return at 4:00 p.m. (Cost: $8.50)

Tuesday, August 17 - Back to School Pool Party at Debbie Leonhardt's home, 5:30 p.m. Cookout and swimming.

Welcome to the Children's Ministry at First Baptist!

“Sharing the love of Jesus with children and families”

First Baptist children’s ministry operates from the belief that when Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me,” He meant it!

Scripture indicates that Jesus loves children and wants children to come to Him and know His love. Our goal in First Baptist children's ministry is to provide an environment that is inviting, safe, and in all ways nurturing to children in each step they take toward Jesus.

Children's Ministry Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your desire and willingness to serve in this vital ministry.  Follow this link to our volunteer application. Please be aware that all volunteers working in a direct supervisory capacity with children are required to undergo a background check. Any information given or gathered during the application process will be kept strictly confidential.

Our desire is to provide for the safety and well-being of the children who participate in any event, program, service, or activity at First Baptist Church-Statesville.

Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings for Children

Check in for Kids before Worship

Parents are asked to check their children in at the Kids Zone room and receive wristbands for parent and child. 

Kids Zone—Saturdays at 5:30 p.m. and Sundays at 8:30 a.m. & 10:55 a.m.
Children 3 years old through 3rd grade are invited into our Kids Zone, where they will experience worship, Bible stories, and activities such as crafts and theme-related games. Kids Zone runs the 1st – 4th Sundays of each month. On the 5th Sunday of the month, families are encouraged to worship together for Family Sunday. Family Sunday allows children to experience and learn about worship through example.

Kids Zone is located on the ground level of our Family Life Center directly across from the Fellowship Hall and Gymnasium.

Sunday School - 9:45-10:40 a.m.
Our nursery ministry is available during the Sunday school hour for infants and toddlers.  Preschool and elementary children’s Sunday school classes are held for pre-school through grade 5. In Sunday school, children will be taught with a Bible-based curriculum that rotates around the church calendar year.

Our children’s Sunday school classes are located on the ground level of our Family Life Center. Each classroom is labeled by age/grade and teacher. Simply enter the children’s hallway and follow the loop around to find your class.
