Our Purpose

First Baptist Church is a covenant fellowship of Christian believers in Jesus Christ, called to serve God through worship, witness, spiritual nurture and growth, and committed to live the example of Jesus Christ through ministry to one another, our community and nation, and our world.

Our Beliefs

Authority: The ultimate source of authority is Jesus Christ the Lord, and every aspect of life is to be subject to his lordship.

The Bible: The Bible as the inspired revelation of God's will and way, made full and complete in the life and teaching of Christ, is our authoritative rule of faith and practice.

Salvation: Salvation from sin is the free gift of God's grace through Christ, conditioned only upon trust, faith, and commitment to Christ as Lord.

These are some of the basic beliefs of our church. Others concern Missions, Church and State, Christian Education, Autonomy, the Church, Priesthood and the Ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper.

Our Objectives

The objectives of First Baptist Church include:

1. To be a worshiping fellowship, experiencing an awareness of God, recognizing his person, and responding in obedience to his leadership.

2. To engage in and promote the study of the Holy Scriptures.

3. To promote the spiritual welfare of all persons and to disseminate the Word of God to the people of all nations through evangelistic, educational and charitable missions.

Our Church Covenant

Since we have committed ourselves to Jesus Christ and have experienced the acceptance, forgiveness, and redemption of God our Father, we covenant together as members of this church that with God's help through the guiding presence of his Spirit:

v We will walk together in brotherly love.

v    We will show loving care for one another and encourage, counsel and admonish one another.

v    We will assemble faithfully for worship and fellowship, and pray earnestly for others as well as for ourselves.
